Is this course for me?

If you have got some filters but don’t feel like you really understand how to use them, or you’ve seen people using filters and would like to understand how they can help your photography, then yes! For those with some basic knowledge, we can show you some expert ideas to get more from your filters.

Course Aims

The course is aimed at providing you with the knowledge and tools that will help you to better understand the use of filters. You will learn how to recognise which situations require the use of filters and importantly, which don’t. You will understand how and when to use different types of filters and you will learn how to build filters into your workflow not only to overcome technical challenges, but to also enhance artistic effect. By the end of the course you will have greater confidence in using filters.

 

What will I learn about?

• Different types of filter systems

• How to select the appropriate filter to overcome a specific challenge

• Polarizing filters

• Neutral Density Filters

• Graduated Filters

• Filters for enhancing artistic effect, including very long exposures

How long does it last?

The Masterclass lasts for 3 hours and will start in the morning. This leaves you with the rest of the day to put your learning into practice.

 

Equipment for you to bring along?

Your usual camera

Tripod (essential – but we have a couple spare if required)

Filters if you have them (but we do have KASE filters available for you to try if required)

 

Group size

The Masterclass will run with minimum of 4 and a maximum of 5 people
